Nails on his shoe

History-
Most people believe that magnetism happened by a shepherd named Magnets. He was herding his sheep when suddenly both nails in his shoes and the metal tip of his staff began firmly stuck to a black rock, which he was on.Researchers later on realized the rock
contained lodestones.These lodestones contained magnetite.
Important Individuals-

Important individuals were of course Magnes himself, and the researchers who had realized what lodestone was.Other than Magnes Hans Christian Orsted discovered the electric currents in magnets, and their fields.

Advantages and Disadvantages-
Some advantages of magnets are helpful in our everyday life and we don't realize they are there. For example, the magnetic strip on the back of credit cards help us take money

CD
out of out bank accounts, instead of paying cash.Computer discs also contain magnets which can help us load movies,or CD's.A final example, is that Magnets are used in MRI's to tell us is we have a problem in our body. Some disadvantages about magnets is that all of these advantages can go wrong or break. The magnetic strip of credit cards can stop attracting to the machine it scans.CD's can get ruined.MRI machines can also break.
How is it used today?-
Even though magnets were discovered many years ago, we use them in our everyday life.We use them in recycling centers, to carry the cubes of cans.We use them while using credit cards. We also use Magnets in all kinds of motors.

Personal Experience-
My personal experience with magnetism came in many ways. One way was when my dad used screws, if any magnet is around, the screws would attract to it. Another experience is when we put any magnet near a tv screen or computer screen, the screen would turn darker in that area. When a magnet is placed too close to the screen, the light beam that is on the backside of the tv will bend and cause the image to distort near where the magnet is.
My personal experience with magnets was when we were using magnets in science for our coils. Another time was when I close my iPad mini, it has a little lip with a magnet to hold the cover down.
My experience with magnets have been usually mostly been with the magnetic nail polish. Though, i know that magnets are everywhere.
